I’d like to take a moment of your time to talk with you about freedom.

Now, I’m not just talking about some off-lead fun, playing in the park and checking your pee-mail whenever you want. I’m talking about real freedom.

I’ve just returned from my morning walk and I would like to mention a couple of things that happened.

The first involved a deeper-than-usual puddle. I am partial to a paddle so I seized the opportunity to dance in the water. As I was lost in the moment, a leaf dropped down from an overhanging tree and it made me jump. A passing human laughed at me.

The second involved the scent to end all scents. Fox wee. Is there anything on earth quite as disgusting as pure, freshly deposited, unabsorbed fox wee? No, there isn’t. It’s perfect. I rolled. I rolled like I have never rolled before. My legs were in the air like I just didn’t care. A car passed us and the driver rolled his eyes.

The third involved me walking home with my human. She was chatting to me and out of nowhere, a squirrel jumped onto the path and scurried up a nearby tree. My eyes lit up, my ears stood to attention and within a nano-second, my front paws were reaching for the top of the tree and my bark echoed across the countryside. Another dog walker passed us, looking smug as her little dog walked with her, uninterested in my near miss with Cyril.

Each and every time, I was minding my own business, doing my thing and being unapologetically me.

Each and every time, I was judged by a human.

Did I care?

Not one bit!

That, #TeamLuna is when you know you have reached an awesome level of freedom.
